“The use of dynamics, harmonies and good song writing, as well as the mix, instrumentation and simple song presentation makes this a brilliant album.” Darkness & Light Review – The Songsmith. “(Dr) TAOS is taking Sydney by storm with his alt-folk blends. Catch him playing songs from his lovely debut album Darkness & Light … revel in the acoustic indie of a shining up and comer” Drum Media. “A pop acoustic album with clear melodic lines fills your soul with an emotional resonance….eerie and haunting, yet warm and comforting…a warm, eclectic album good for relaxed introspective listening” Rated 80/100, Music Feeds Magazine. Songwriter guitarist TAOS has recently released his dynamic debut acoustic guitar based, solo album Darkness & Light. As the title may suggest, the album (dare it be called concept) explores various themes, from the darker side to the more uplifting, with a raw expression of emotions loosely telling the story of the dark descending spiral and the rise back up towards the light. Featuring Adam Smith, bass; Chew, drums; Nicki Wells, guest vox; Rob Morten, keyboards, flute and sax and Kent Eastwood also on keys, Darkness & Light has a lot more going on than just acoustic guitar and vocals.
Dr TAOS (previously known as TAOS) is releasing the new single LOVE STRIKES on Friday 1st May, available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/drtaoslovestrikes and will be playing some of his dynamic live shows to promote it (dates to be confirmed).
Featuring Dr TAOS on guitars and vocals, Eric Baker on bass and Mitchell Sloan on drums/percussion, this is the first single off the new album due out mid 2015 and showcases Dr TAOS’ more melodic side.
LOVE STRIKES was recorded at Suburbia Studios in Sydney, Australia by Simon Tonx and mastered at Viking Lounge Mastering by Paul Stefanidis.
